The Senator representing Orlu Zone (Imo West) in the Upper National Assembly, Senator Hope Uzodimma has raised the bar in constituency representation and empowerment.
At a well attended event in his Omuma home, Senator Uzodinma doled out several empowerment programmes ranging from vehicles, keke, motorcycle and other skills acquisition items.
Several persons in the PDP family stormed Omuma yesterday for the event.
Meanwhile Facilitators of Gov Okorocha’s Christmas gift were on Wednesday 11th December, 2013, besieged in Agbala autonomous community in Owerri North LGA by angry youths who demanded to know the sharing formula of the money allotted to the community by the Governor.
Our reporter who was present at the scene gathered that the people of Agbala community converged at the CGC office waiting for the arrival of the facilitators appointed by the government to disburse the money approved by the governor not until reports came across that the facilitators have been diverted to a petrol station owned by a Lawmaker in the state.
According to a native of the community, Chief Isaac Abaleke who spoke to our reporter, he revealed that in other communities, the Governor’s Xmas gifts were disbursed at a central place which is the CGC offices of the communities, and condemned the decision of the facilitators led by one Lady Anyanwu who resorted to disbursing the Governor’s gift in an uncompleted petrol station along Owerri-Aba road.
Continuing, he said the manner at which the gift was shared was contrary to the objectives of the Governor.
When the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Malachy Onu was contacted to get his view on matter, he declined comment.
Also, when the govt representative, Lady Dr Ijeoma Anyanwu was contacted on the issue yesterday at about 2:04am, she said she could not comment on the matter at the moment.
Efforts to reach the honourable member representing Owerri North State Constituency, Hon Dan Ikpeazu proved abortive and his phone rang ceaselessly without reply.
