Some members of the Great Power of God Destroy Ministry are telling detectives of the Imo State Police Command their business in an Mbaise Community where they were apprehended for attempting to perform miracle of bringing to life a dead man.
Trumpeta learnt that some members of the Church, made up of women from Delta State arm of the Pentecostal Church, stormed Umuezie autonomous Community in Aboh Mbaise LGA for the purpose of performing miracle by raising the dead.
The deceased simply identified as Amaechi Bright was a resident abroad before he died and was buried four days ago.
It was learnt that a member of the Great Power of God Destroy Power Ministry came and informed the family members that their deceased kinsman was disturbing them to come and raise him from dead prompting their visit to the community and compound.
The bewildered and mournful family members willingly allowed the Great Power of God Destroy Power Ministry “prayer warriors” to undertake the miracle exercise. The burial Body was exhumed for the “prayer warriors” to administer miracle. At the end of the day, nothing happened and the deceased remained intact.
It was learnt that a certain self acclaimed woman of God named Mummy G, who has been involved in healing and miracle works made the disclosure to the family before the “prayer warriors” moved in and excavators were contracted and reportedly paid N70,000 to exhume the corpse.
After it was exhumed, the prayer warriors ordered that the corpse be put in the man’s main parlour for prayers which proved futile.
Alarmed at the development and futile attempts of the people to perform the “raising from dead” miracle, the traditional ruler of the community, Eze Charles Iroegbu ordered for the arrest of the suspected miracle performers.
Confusion however reigned in the community when youths, elderly and women trooped out to witness the incident.
The suspects were later handed over to police where investigation on the matter has commenced.
The Aboh Mbaise Police Divisional, DPO, HJ Anga in his address while addressing journalists in his office stated that the situation was a breach of custom and tradition in the community, stressing further that, it is not a criminal act but the police was involved in a bid to be proactive so as to avert mayhem which could have erupted.
HRH Eze Charles Iroegbu whose community has maintained relative peace since his coronation as the Ezu 1 of Umuezu Nguru autonomous community played a fatherly role by inviting the police before the community youths take laws into their hands.
It was learnt that Apostle David Onuegbu, founder of the Great Power of God Destroy Power Ministry led the prayer team as he was among the nine suspects detained behind the police counter.
